Being good neighbors and stewards of the land is one of our top priorities. Before we build a pipeline, we conduct preliminary routing and surveys in order to protect wetlands, endangered species, and archeological and historic sites. After a route is determined, we execute written agreements with landowners allowing us to build, operate, and maintain pipelines and facilities on private property.
The pipeline right-of-way is a strip of land that contains a pipeline that allows for the construction and subsequent operation and inspection of the pipeline. After construction, we restore the land to as near as practical condition as before. Periodically, our operations team will conduct patrols and mow the right-of-way to allow continued surveillance.
